A total of 411 emergency workers who responded to the scene died as they attempted to implement
rescue and fire suppression efforts.
The New yourk fire department (FDNY) lost 341 firefighters and 2 FDNY paramedics
The New york city police department lost 23 officers.
The Port Authority lost 37 officers, as well as a K9 dog named Sirius.
Private EMS units lost 8 additional EMT and paramedics.
Total loss of life...3,385 not including missing or unidentified.

God's Garden
The flowers in God's garden
are wonderful and rare
but there is one so beautiful,
it's quite beyond compare.
God gave to us this flower,
a gift from up above.
"Take great care of this", he said,
so we tended it with love.
It budded here on earth
a little while ago,
but it was bound for heaven,
so we had to let it go.
Some flowers are here for years and years,
from some it's just a few.
So remember when you have these flowers
They're God's gift to you

My Tribute To Our Fallen Loved Ones
Where were you? Do you remember?
That fateful morning in September.
When terrorists took to our skies.
And left so many with no goodbyes.
Two planes leveled the WTC.
One hit the Pentagon, how could that be?
A fourth plane crashed in a field in Pa.
So many lives were lost that day.
As the story unfolded, I watched and I cried.
When I realized how many had died.
Policemen and Firefighters, too.
Knowing they each had a job to do.
Lost their lives trying to save.
At least some of those whose hopes were so grave.
What could make people do such a thing?
Knowing the sadness these acts would bring.
Why is their hatred for us so strong?
That killing thousands doesn’t seem wrong.
The families and friends of those who perished.
Will only have memories now to cherish.
How sad it is words simply can’t say.
The heartaches the terrorists caused that day.
Those of us in far away places.
Felt the pain we saw on our citizens faces.
As each day passed and crews searched the ground.
There were no more survivors found.
Man’s best friend searched in vain.
Taking short breaks, ignoring their pain.
They burned their paws, but worked all day.
Knowing, they too had a role to play.
One thing is certain, when it’s all said and done.
We won’t forget September 11, 2001.
